article fails to elucidate to the general readers about the other relevant
pieces of investment legislation in Indonesian. Technically, when it
discusses about the DNI, it overlooks the other ministerial regulation
germane to the sectors in question. In the case of companies going public,
the regulations from the Financial Services Authority (“OJK”) and Indonesia
Stock Exchange (“BEI”) could have been mentioned.
According to the current DNI, foreign investors can own 100% of a
distribution company in Indonesia as long as the distribution business is
affiliated with its production/manufacture.
A complete picture of how investment regulations work in Indonesia would
certainly help “rookie” investors.
