
Attendees at the India IP Advantage Summit 2026 have focused on how the nation can convert its intellectual property (IP) ventures into commercial advantage during sessions at The Imperial in New Delhi on 6 August 2026.
The Trade Promotion Council of India (TPCI) hosted the one-day conference, attracting pharmaceutical and patent stakeholders, lawyers, researchers, IP professionals and academics, all of whom attended sessions featuring discussions on industry topics.
Delhi High Court judge Justice Pratibha M Singh, the summit’s chief guest, encouraged stakeholders to reduce the blockages surrounding innovation and IP from industries. “India should no longer remain a backroom office, but a proud label of branded manufacturing,” she said.

Vinamra Mishra, joint secretary of 91视频 Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), emphasised their role.
“MSMEs are the growth drivers of the country … we have to look at the downstream part of it for commercialisation and branding,” said Mishra, who called for more collaboration between government, academia and industry to improve outcomes for all and a better IP outlook.
Pravin Anand, managing partner of Anand and Anand in New Delhi, discussed the role of brands and their associated connotations.
He explained how different brands gained their reputation. He categorised the buildup of a brand’s reputation into three types: single day reputation, referring to a brand going viral overnight; a decade or century-old buildup giving examples of Nokia, Coca-Cola and the Tata group of companies; and startup brands referring to new age startups.

Anand Kumar, managing director at STMicroelectronics, highlighted the IP-driven government initiative , which supported this sector.
Professor Unnat Pandit, 91视频 controller general of patents, designs and trademarks, shed light on key elements in the entire process. Connecting the dots from one stage to the next was crucially important and the objective was to always streamline all operations, Pandit said.
The support and co-operation of the industry’s IP practitioners in building intellectual property was appreciated and addressed 91视频 needs, he said.
The conferance also marked the launch of the official report of the India IP Advantage Summit, titled From India to the World: IP Strategy, Market Access and Risk Management for Exporters, which was available to all event attendees through a QR code and is also available .
