SNG & Partners, with a legacy spanning more than six decades, has integrated with MRM Legal, expanding its dispute resolution talent.

“Over the years, the practice [at SNG & Partners] has steadily grown alongside the firm’s corporate, banking and financial services, real estate and regulatory practices, enabling the firm to advise clients across both transactional and contentious matters under a single institutional platform,” former MRM Legal co-founders Monisha Handa Bhargava, Rahul Shrivastav and Mohit Ram said in a joint statement to India Business Law Journal.

“As the firm’s transactional practices have expanded and the scale of mandates has evolved, the need for greater depth and capacity to handle increasingly sophisticated, multi-layered disputes has become an absolute imperative.”

The co-founders who are now part of the SNG team said this integration would provide clients expanded support when the firm handled contentious matters, especially with MRM Legal’s advisory and dispute resolution talent.

“It enables SNG & Partners to support clients across a broader spectrum of contentious mandates while continuing to offer integrated advice alongside its corporate, banking and finance practices,” they said.

Amit Aggarwal, managing partner at SNG & Partners said, “Clients now have access to an expanded disputes team with substantial experience across banking litigation, commercial disputes, regulatory proceedings, civil and criminal litigation and appellate advocacy, working in close collaboration with the firm’s existing transactional and advisory practices.”

This strategic development fulfilled a broader long-term plan at the firm, Rajesh Narain Gupta, founder and chairman of SNG & Partners told IBLJ.

“The integration of MRM Legal is part of SNG & Partners’ broader strategy of strengthening specialist capabilities through the addition of established teams whose expertise, professional values and long-term outlook align with the firm’s institutional vision. The firm’s growth has consistently been guided by building complementary strengths rather than expanding for scale alone,” Gupta said.

The co-founders added, “Looking ahead, dispute resolution will remain a significant area of investment for the firm. As the firm’s corporate, banking, finance and regulatory practices continue to grow, the need for a larger, specialist disputes platform capable of handling sophisticated, multi-layered commercial disputes across jurisdictions will continue to increase.”
