Independent renewable power producer Juniper Green Energy debuts at an 8.9% premium in India on 6 August 2026, raising INR180 billion (USD189 million) in its IPO. Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co (SAM), Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and Linklaters Singapore counselled on the listing on the National Stock Exchange of India and BSE.
SAM acted as Indian legal counsel to Juniper Green Energy on the IPO, involving a fresh issue of shares.
“The Juniper Green Energy IPO marked a notable return of a primary market public offering in 91视频 renewable energy sector since the underwhelming offerings of the recent past in this sector,” Sayantan Dutta, lead partner for the SAM team, told India Business Law Journal.
“The transaction presented a unique combination of regulatory and market considerations. Despite a volatile market environment, the IPO attracted strong investor interest, highlighting confidence in both the issuer and 91视频 renewable energy sector.”
The SAM transaction team comprised partners Dutta and Trishita Dasgupta, principal associate Ankur Verma, and associates Anoop Mukundan and Dipti Tharwani.
The issue witnessed strong investor demand and was oversubscribed 8.69 times overall. For qualified institutional buyers, it was oversubscribed 27.44 times, 1.82 times among non-institutional investors and 3.58 times for employee reservations. CAM and Linklaters Singapore advised the book running lead managers on India and international law, respectively. The book running lead managers included ICICI Securities, HSBC Securities and Capital Markets (India), JM Financial, and Kotak Mahindra Capital.
The CAM transaction team comprised partner Abhiroop Lahiri, principal associate Chinar Gupta, senior associates Medhashree Verma and Shreya Jain, and associates Ritvik Maheshwari, Sanskar Modi and Sayor Ray. The team received support from partner Gokul Rajan, regional co-head of capital markets – North, on certain aspects of the transaction.
Linklaters Singapore played the role of the sole international counsel for the BRLMs, led by partner and head of India Practice Amit Singh and counsel Joseph Wolpin. The core team also included Daryl Bryan Chee and Sanketh Hareesh Kumar.
