Rajah & Tann Singapore has bolstered its international arbitration practice with the appointment of partner Scott Tan.
Tan joins from the Attorney-General’s Chambers of Singapore, where he spent six years and served as the director of the International Disputes Practice Group in the International Affairs Division. Prior to that, he worked at the Supreme Court of Singapore for more than five years and was special assistant to Chief Justice Sundaresh Menon.
He has also represented Singapore in multiple bilateral and multilateral trade, investment and diplomatic negotiations. Additionally, he served as a delegate to the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, held between 2023 and 2024.
Tan specialises in international trade and investment law, the law of the sea, sovereign immunity, state responsibility and the law of armed conflict.

He brings much sought-after experience at the highest levels of international dispute resolution – including proceedings before international courts and tribunals, and on public international law and treaty-related matters,” Rajah & Tann Singapore managing partner Ng Kim Beng told Asia Business Law Journal.
