The Association of Corporate Counsel Hong Kong Chapter (ACCHK) has appointed a new board of directors led by president Winnie Tse, senior legal counsel at Sinopec Century Bright Capital Investment.
The board of directors bring experience across fintech, technology, insurance, luxury and entertainment, consumer and industrial sectors, as well as diverse professional and cultural backgrounds spanning Europe, Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Canada.
“My immediate priorities for the association are to foster close ties with ACC Global and learn from their shared strategies for ACC, showing stable leadership and attracting new members,” said Tse.
Tse succeeds Kat Kukreja, counsel at investment firm Polynomial Partners, who has served as president of the association since 2022.
After transitioning from private practice to an in-house role, she became active in the ACCHK, eventually serving as co-chair of its seminars committee before joining the board.
“There are abundant opportunities for in-house counsel in Hong Kong who are experienced in compliance, data privacy laws and finance laws,” said Tse. Hong Kong’s push to become a cash treasury hub for multinational companies could drive demand for lawyers with expertise in corporate treasury centres and loan financing.
Joining Tse in board leadership are vice president Sandra Wu, managing director of a boutique consultancy, Centrium Advisory and treasurer Edward Tsim, APAC commercial counsel at Binance.
The board includes Candy Au, head of corporate compliance at an insurance company, AIA Hong Kong and Macau; Susan Lai, legal counsel at Alibaba Group; Hsiang Low, co-founder, general counsel and director of operations at fintech Riverchain; Andrew Olson, general counsel of Prada Asia Pacific; and Michael Yang, vice president and legal counsel at Galaxy Entertainment.
The new board will continue to support ACCHK’s objectives of connecting and advancing the region’s in-house legal community through events, seminars, conferences and other initiatives.
