Chiraagdeep Singh Dhillon has returned to India, joining boutique law firm Equilex as a partner to head its banking and finance practice.
Dhillon brings more than 16 years of experience at ICICI Bank and Anglo American. During his tenure at both organisations, he advised on banking and finance matters across the Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, the UK and the US.
He has significant experience in regulatory matters across these jurisdictions, as well as structured finance, trade finance, bond issuances and derivatives documentation.
His experience also includes advising on anti-money laundering, sanctions and data privacy matters across multiple jurisdictions, including within the financial services sector.
The banking practice will focus on debt origination documentation, including corporate finance, project finance, asset finance, structured finance and trade finance, as well as derivatives, debt capital markets and cross-border transactions.
“After over a decade in Singapore, coming back to India to build something of my own, in a market I know extensively with a partner in Deep [Roy, managing partner] and a platform like Equilex, felt right for me,” said Dhillon.
“I get to bring my experiences and expertise from global institutions on the buy and sell side to the advisory side.”
