Holman Fenwick Willan (HFW) brings back Peter Glover as a partner in Singapore to grow its global shipping practice.
Glover previously spent three years at HFW in Melbourne and rejoins the firm from Reed Smith, where he had been a partner in the Hong Kong office since October 2019.
He advises shipowners, charterers, commodity, energy and trading companies, and banks and insurers on complex cross-border litigation and arbitration. His work encompasses shipping and admiralty matters, international trade and commodities disputes, marine insurance, enforcement of guarantees, civil fraud and competition and commercial law.
His expertise further extends to legal risk management, commercial charterparties and commodities contracts, regulatory compliance, insurance and high?profile casualties and crisis situations.
“Peter’s appointment reflects our continued investment in shipping, which remains one of our core global sectors and a cornerstone of our Singapore practice,” Adam Richardson, HFW’s Singapore office head, told Asia Business Law Journal.
“Peter was a compelling hire because he combines market-leading shipping and admiralty expertise with seagoing experience as a Master Mariner, a rare combination in the legal market and one which will serve our clients well.”
Richardson said Glover’s arrival marked HFW’s latest strategic hire and the firm also had ambitious growth plans for its Singapore office.
