Shihui Partners has appointed Shirley Zhao as a partner based in Shenzhen shoring up the firm’s capabilities in artificial intelligence (AI) technology companies’ outbound expansion and global compliance.
Her practice covers the establishment of global compliance frameworks, AI governance, data and privacy protection, consumer protection, intellectual property, open?source compliance and economic sanctions, as well as cross?border commercial contracts and risk management.
Zhao is dual-qualified in China and California. Prior to joining Shihui, she served as senior legal counsel at Tencent from 2022, where she was responsible for global AI governance and compliance for the company’s overseas operations, and participated in building and continuously enhancing its AI compliance framework.
Earlier in her career, Zhao spent more than a decade at Baker McKenzie, where she served as senior counsel and was based in Beijing.
