Stephenson Harwood has strengthened its finance practice in Singapore with the appointment of Zhi Chao Chor as a partner, pending regulatory approvals.

Chor joins the firm from Penningtons Manches Cooper, where he served as a partner for more than a year. Before that, he was a partner at WongPartnership and Rajah & Tann Asia.

“In addition to his experience and skills as a lawyer, we were very impressed with Zhi Chao’s wider industry knowledge and the way he uses this expertise to build and nurture close relationships with his clients. As markets become ever-more complex, this level of sophistication is what clients demand,” Stephenson Harwood Singapore managing partner Daryll Ng told Asia Business Law Journal.

Chor brings more than 15 years of experience advising on complex cross-border financings across Asia, Europe and Africa. His practice focuses on structured commodity and trade finance, sustainability-linked and transition finance, including first-in-market carbon inventory structures, Islamic finance, leveraged and syndicated finance, and real estate finance.
