Clifford Chance has acted for a fund managed by private equity company Global Infrastructure Partners, a subsidiary of BlackRock, on the sale of its operatinal solar portfolio in Taiwan to J&V Energy Technology.
The global law firm said the portfolio, which was sold for an undisclosed amount, consists of 42 operational solar projects across central and southern Taiwan, with an aggregate installed capacity of 187 megawatts.
Global co-head of the energy and resources sector Nadia Kalic led the Clifford Chance team with assistance from senior associate Emily Yung and associates Will Lucas, Chantelle Masters and Patricia Veng.
Partner Chad Bochan, counsel Julian Brun and associate Monica Shakeri advised on the financing elements of the transaction.
Taipei-based J&V Energy Technology said the solar projects were expected to produce around 270 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, enough to supply around 80,000 Taiwanese households. The portfolio is also expected to deliver stable power generation for more than 15 years.
