Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer (HSF Kramer) has bulked up its projects, energy and infrastructure (PEI) practice with the addition of Marcus Davenport as a partner in Melbourne.

Davenport joins from Australian law firm Clayton Utz, where he spent more than 28 years and served as a partner.

He focuses on major project procurement and debt finance, and has advised on numerous public-private partnerships. He also specialises in project, property and acquisition finance, general corporate and commercial lending, and secured and unsecured facilities.

“We know there is strong demand for skilled legal advice and significant opportunity to support clients on major private-side infrastructure matters. It is critical that we have the right people on board, with the seniority, technical expertise and commercial mindset needed to support our clients on nation-building projects, as well as grow our infrastructure practice. Marcus brings exactly that,” Nick Baker, managing partner, Asia and Australia for HSF Kramer’s PEI practice, told Asia Business Law Journal.

“Our projects, energy and infrastructure practice continues to grow across the Asia-Pacific and globally. Marcus’ arrival in the partnership forms part of our broader plans to further strengthen our global capability and support clients on essential, fast-growing infrastructure projects, particularly across energy, transport, defence and digital, and social infrastructure.”
