South Korean law firm Yulchon has hired former Supreme Court justice Jung Hwa Park as a senior adviser to strengthen its civil, criminal, and administrative dispute resolution capabilities.
Park, who served on the bench from 2017 to 2023, will officially join Yulchon on 1 September 2026, drawing on more than 30 years of judicial experience. She will advise on major litigation and corporate advisory matters.
Park began her judicial career in 1991 as a judge at the northern branch of the Seoul District Court. During the course of three decades, she served at the Seoul Civil District, Daegu District, Seoul Family and Seoul High Courts, while also holding positions as a Supreme Court research judge for patent cases, a standing member of the Supreme Court Sentencing Commission and the first female presiding judge at the Seoul Administrative Court.
Park was the fifth woman appointed to South Korea’s Supreme Court. Following her retirement from the bench in 2023, she served as a chair professor at Korea University School of Law.
